Hi, I'm Nicolas De Keijser and I've been passionate about race cars for more than 20 years.
I've had so much fun and success driving mid-engine tube chassis cars (VW Funcup, Roadster Cup and > 500HP Silhouette Touring Cars) for more than 10 years in Europe that I've decided to bring some of them to California, my new home since 2014.
The idea behind Funduro Racing is to provide an affordable & fun racing experience to anyone with a passion for cars. As a starting point, in December 2019, we participated to an epic edition of the famed 25h of Thunderhill with one Roadster Cup car. We were very competitive within E1 and joined again for the 2021 where we managed to win the E1 class. The cars are now available for rent for any trackday activity as well as other NASA sanctioned endurance races including the upcoming 2021 - 25h of Thunderhill and other NASA WERC races.

The Origins |
From then till now |
Back in 2004, the creator of the hugely successful VW Funcup* had the idea for what would become the Roadster Cup, a faster & open cockpit alternative to the VW Funcup and use them for sprint and semi-enduro races. Just as with the Funcup, the car had to be fun to drive, safe, very reliable and affordable to own & run. The look of the car, inspired by the Porsche 356, made perfect sense. After all, back in the days, the 356 was the sportscar evolution of the VW Beetle which was the inspiration of the VW Funcup.
